DUSHANBE, August 1, 2008, Asia-Plus - Turkmenistan will buy 700 new Case tractors, 300 of which will be delivered by the end of March 2009.
An agreement to this effect was reached at a meeting between Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and US Case New Holland company CEO Franko Fuzinyani on July 31.
As the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said Turkmen machine operators highly rated Case tractors during tests in the soil-climate conditions of Baharly district.
Franko Fuzinyani reported to the head of state that few samples of farm equipment, which have undergone field tests, were delivered to Turkmenistan. Field tests are currently continuing in Dashoguz province.
"I and my company will do out best to ensure that our equipment works perfectly in Turkmenistan," Case New Holland CEO said after the meeting.
Over 2,5 thousand units of Case farm equipment have been supplied to Turkmenistan since 1994.
