DUSHANBE, August 8, 2008, Asia-Plus - Turkmenistan.ru - The first agricultural exhibition and conference of international scale in the history of Turkmenistan "TurkmenAgro - 2008" opened at the "Sergi Kosgi" exhibition center in Ashgabat today. The event is dedicated to achievements and prospects of agricultural development in Turkmenistan.

More than 70 companies, including 50 foreign ones from 15 countries of the world, farm specialists and experts attend the agro-industrial forum, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat.

Turkmenistan is represented by the ministry of agriculture and the association of food industry, Turkmengallaonumleri, Turkmenmallary and Turkmenobahyzmat associations, Turkmenatlary state association, Turkmenpagta and Turkmenhimiya state concerns, the ministry of water management as well as the ministry of nature protection and Gek Gushak joint-stock company.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has sent a welcome message to the exhibition participants and guests. The text of the message was published in central mass media outlets of Turkmenistan.
