DUSHANBE, August 8, 2008, Asia-Plus - KABAR - Kazakhstan businessmen are ready to invest in construction of four small hydroelectric power stations on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. General Director of Open Society Chakan, Nurdin Kozhogulov, stated today at the press conference Development of small hydroelectric power stations, the agency reports. "The project has been designed for $50 million. Kazakhstan businessmen will invest $30 million in the hydropower project," he noted. As it was informed earlier, four small hydroelectric power stations are planned to be constructed in Kyrgyzstan. According to General Director of Open Society Chakan Hydroelectric Power Station, construction of small hydroelectric power stations will begin this year and payback period of four hydropower objects will be 5-6 years. According to N. Kozhogulov, objects will be under construction in four areas of the Republic: in Dzhalalabad oblast on the river Astrakhan, at Ortotokoy water basin of Issykul oblast, in Osh and Talass oblasts," N. Kozhogulov informed. According to participants of the press conference, businessmen of Czechia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are ready to act as investors of the project.
