"Kyrgyzstan has really dangerous religious situation," Rashid Tagaev, Kyrgyz parliament member told the news agency "24.kg", while commenting on the research of Kyrgyzstan religious situation done by the parliament commission.
This commission was formed in May, 2008. It cooperates with Ministry of Internal Affairs and State Agency on Religious Affairs. After finishing the research, the commission needs to offer legislations to be passed and the existing legislations that need to be modified for better religious condition in Kyrgyzstan.
Parliament commission arranged several groups which already left for the regions to research religious situation empirically. "Right now we are on the stage of summary and analysis of the collected data. The religious situation is really dangerous, because different religious trends don''t get weaker, but on the contrary, get stronger," the lawmaker emphasized.
"This is a very serious question. That is why the parliament and the government need to solve this problem fundamentally," Tagaev said. He is unambiguously for toughening the legislation on religion. "That is why we are doing this work and trying to find out what is the real situation," he concluded.
