The 39th meeting of the Council of heads of communication bodies of the Regional Communication Community (RCC) and a 13th meeting of the Coordination Council on Information under the RCC started in Ashgabat. The event is taking place in the conference-hall of "President" hotel, where a solemn opening ceremony took place.

Participants of the meeting will discuss question on further development of communications in the CIS countries, expansion of mutually advantageous relationships between RCC, and cooperation with international organizations in the field of communication and information.

Regional Communication Community (RCC) was established on December 17, 1991 in Moscow by heads of administration of connection (AC) of Commonwealth countries. In October 1992 in Bishkek the "Agreement on coordination of interstate relations in the field of post and electric communication" was signed by head of CIS countries.
