The regular meeting of the heads of Border Services of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took place on October 8 in Ashgabat, reported Press-uz.info.
This meeting followed after the meeting held last November in Bukhara, where priority areas of cooperation between the Border Services of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan were outlined for the nearest term, as well as mechanisms of their implementation.
The heads of Border Service of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan reiterated their intentions to expand and deepen cooperation in border security within earlier reached interstate and intergovernmental agreements.
The leaders of Border Services of the two countries agreed to strengthen cooperation at all levels and areas of work of border services.
“The documents signed during meeting in Ashgabat seeking to strengthen cooperation between border guards on Uzbek-Turkmen border will give an impulse to further development of border cooperation between the states,” Press-uz.info said.
