Yesterday Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, the president of Turkmenistan, participated in the laying of foundation stone of two new textile industries as well as opening and putting to operation of fist panne velvet factory.
Cotton mill will be built in Geokdepe etrap (rayon) of Akhal region by Turkish company "Kotam Enterprizies LTD". The new factory worth 70 million U.S. dollar will occupy territory of 12 hectares next to the existing textile complex.
Currently "Kotam Enterprizies LTD" is building cotton mill in Dashoguz city, as well as medical cotton wool and cosmetic cotton products factory in Ashgabat.
The complex will be able to handle 10 890 tons of cotton annually and produce about 9.5 tons of high quality weaving and knitting cotton yarn. Most of the products meant for export. The factory will use local raw materials in particular mid – fibrous cotton. The factories are scheduled to be put to operation by February 2010.
On the same day the president attended opening ceremony of new petrol station in Babaarap village. This station is one of the 5 stations constructed in Ashgabat and Ruhabat rayon of akhal region by Turkish companies "EPG Insaat Taahut Sanayi Tijaret LTD STI" and "Safak Insaat Makina Sanayi ve Tijaret LTD STI" by the request of Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan.
Then Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov proceeded to Ruhabat rayon to mark launching of new textile industry. The construction of the industry worth 79 million U.S. dollars is carried out by well know Turkish company "Engin Grup".
To-date, China has invested over $5 billion in Tajikistan's energy sector.
