On November 6, during the business lunch in the Dynasty Hall of the fashionable Shilla Hotel, the residence of the Turkmen President, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has received representatives of the business elite of the Republic of Korea. Over 100 government, financial and business entities of South Korea including LG, Samsung, Daewoo, Hyundai, Kasko attended the lunch.
According to the Turkmen State News Agency (TDH), Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov introduced the guests to the priorities of the foreign political and foreign economic strategy, which, according to the Turkmen leader, “attaches an important role to the cooperation with South Korea”. “Today, there are all possibilities and, more importantly, the good will of the sides to realize the enormous potential of this partnership in the interests of the peoples of two countries”, the Turkmen leader stressed.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed out the role of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean Commission for Economic Cooperation “set to coordinate the efforts of the sides on building-up the effective interaction”. As is known, the first meeting of the commission has been recently held in Seoul where the opportunities for cooperation in the development of oil and gas deposits on the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea, construction of new and reconstruction of existing oil processing facilities, modernization of Turkmenbashi sea port and many other issues were considered.
“Turkmenistan is very interested in the experience of the S.Korean friends in the sphere of hi-tech, production management and training of specialists”, said Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noting the world-known achievements of South Korea in machine-building, industrial and civil engineering, science and education.
