A regional conference "Drug resistant tuberculosis - difficulties in fight against tuberculosis" opened in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on November 11. The event was organized by the WHO Program on TB control in Central Asian states and Health Ministry of Uzbekistan at the financial assistance of KfW Development Bank.
The conference is attended by over 150 delegates from 12 countries of Europe and Central Asia, specialists of WHO, KfW, EPOS Health Cons, the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, USAID, CDC, Project HOPE and other international organizations, reported Uzreport.
The participants will consider issues of developing effective treating various forms of TV with use of preventive programs and fight against drug resistant tuberculosis, etc. It is expected that the resolution on fight against TB in the Central Asian region will be signed.
