Karim Massimov, Prime Minister charged Umirzak Shukeyev, Vice Prime Minister to coordinate the system of micro-lending in rural areas.
In particular, Prime Minister ordered to coordinate actions of Agriculture Ministry, akimats and Damu Fund on the matter, since much time passed from adoption of the decision to certain actions.
“47% of Kazakhstan population lives in rural areas, 18% of them belong to low income groups of population. Unfortunately, implementing micro-lending program through Damu Fund we managed to cover only 4.3% of them,” Akhylbek Kurishbayev, Agriculture Minister said.
“The main reasons are lack of financing and underdevelopment of the system of micro-lending in villages. Most of micro-lending organizations are located in district centers and do not work with villagers. Besides, the regions, except for Mangystau region, do not use budgetary means for crediting,” Minister added.
