The 75th birthday of film producer Alty Karliyev and Day of Homeland Defenders of Turkmenistan were celebrated at a soiree in the Moscow House of Nationalities on 27 January
Alty Karliyev''s documentary "Requiem for Dnepr" was demonstrated during the soiree, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Moscow. The film was shot at Turkmenfilm studio in 1980. The film is about Turkmen soldiers'' feat of arms during the World War II.
The film producer''s son Gennadiy Artykov, actor and singer Albert Atakhanov, composer Maral Yakshiyeva, Turkmen students studying in Moscow and many other people spoke during the soiree. Musical compositions were also performed. One of the leaders of the Russian-Turkmen House, Vladimir Nemchinov, shared his organization''s plans for 2009. An exhibition of pictures by Tamara Artykova, Alty Karliyev''s wife, was arranged in the foyer of the House of Nationalities. All guests were treated to the Turkmen traditional food.
