Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan grew almost by 50% to US$132.3 million in 2008.

Turkmenistan exports to Uzbekistan polymer of propylene, transport and communication services, minerals and non-organic chemical products.
Cooperation in fuel-energy sphere between two states is important. Both countries possess large reserves of natural gas. Being large producers and exports of gas, the countries are interested in construction of new gas pipeline.
