On the first day of spring, representatives of "Agama" club of mountaineers and Ashgabat''s club of young tourists joined together to organize the replanting of a juniper grove that once grew on Markau mountain. At a height of 1000 meters, they planted young plants of the mountain tree which is very strong and adaptable, reports Turkmenistan.ru referring to "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" website
Sport veterans and young mountain climbers brought pots of water to the site and dug a water collector to help irrigate the trees naturally. The participants in this ecological endeavor gave the young grove the name of Agamovskaya and pledged to take care of the young plants.
This weekend, Agama club members will continue their ecological efforts in the highlands of Kopetdag nature reserve, where they will plant more native flora. They decided to plant plane trees on the flanks of Dushak hill to preserve the Ak Su water spring, one of the many beautiful water springs in Kopetdag. This initiative was supported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan. The club decided to carry out regular environmental projects in nature reserves and areas of outstanding natural beauty.
