Kyrgyz Constitutional Court has proceeded to consideration of the issue over date of presidential elections. The first sitting was on Thursday, March 19.
As it has been already reported, Asilbek Jeenbekov member of the parliament from the social-democratic party, appealed to the main constitutional authority of the country for a definite date of the presidential elections.
Jeenbekov argued for his decision to appeal to the specialists with the statement that ‘society has a right to know an exact date of the presidential elections and if it is voiced beforehand all the candidates would have equal chances to get ready for the event’.
“Members of our fraction repeatedly raised the issue even in mass media and I decided to initiate the appeal,” the lawmaker informed.
Members of the Constitutional Court heard the initiator and moved to the jury room. The time of the next sitting is still not known.
