Tashkent hosted a seminar on the adoption of single international standards and rules of exploitation of gas transportation systems on March 16-18. It was organized by the project "The harmonization of standards and adoption of rules in the gas industry of Central Asia - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan".
The seminar was attended by representatives of Uztransgas, Uzstandard, the State Inspection on Supervision of security of industry, technical committee on standardization Uzneftegazproduct and the State Committee on Architecture and Construction, reported Uzreport.
During the seminar, participants discussed the situation in Uzbekistan regarding the adoption of international standards and the status of existing national standards in the country. The sides also discussed adjustment procedures, the differences between national and international standards and the transfer from national standards to international ones.
The project team presented the Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS) to demonstrate the advantages of EU standards and the process of adoption of international documents.
