The Senators of Uzbekistan have ratified the Agreement on Liberalization, Encouragement and Protection of Investments signed on 15 August 2008 in Tashkent.
The Senators of the Upper Chamber of the Parliament of Uzbekistan have approved the law on ratification of the Agreement on Liberalization, Encouragement and Protection of Investments between Uzbekistan and Japan during plenary sessions on March 27 and 28.
The given Agreement envisages more favorable conditions for investors and investments of the both sides than those for own investors and their investments.
According to the Japanese Embassy in Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan received over US$910 million under Official Development Assistance Program of the Government of Japan. The overall Japanese investments into economy of Uzbekistan total over US$2 billion up to date.
