Turkmenistan has set up an interdepartmental working group on energy diplomacy, which includes heads of the state structures dealing with energy affairs, the ministry of foreign affairs, special scientific-research institutes.
According to a statement issued by the Turkmen foreign ministry and quoted by Turkmenistan''s embassy in the Russian federation, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree to this effect on 13 April.
"The interdepartmental working group will be responsible for preparing proposals on the further measures to promote the international energy cooperation of Turkmenistan, studying and analyzing the situation in the international energy sphere, including energy security issues, making recommendations on working out projects of contracts and agreements of Turkmenistan on energy issues, preparing proposals on cooperation with the international energy organizations and financial institutions, the statement said.
