Kadyrbek Telmanovich, you have said that earlier Kurmanbek Bakiev tasked you to write a reply letter to the U.S. President Barack Obama. Is there any progress?
Following the president’s Bakiev task the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with other associated institutions proceeded to writing a response letter and now we are in the middle of our consultations with the U.S. side.
Can you report about any certain achievements yet?
It is too early to speak about any certain achievements. The negotiations are under way. However, I would like to note that we have agreed on allowing transit of nonmilitary cargo to Afghanistan through the Kyrgyz territory.
