Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko will visit Turkmenistan in September this year. During the official visit he will participate in the ceremony of commissioning of a railway bridge across Amu Darya river, which is being built by Ukrainian specialists. This was agreed by the heads of Turkmenistan and Ukraine during a telephone conversation on June 30.
During the conversation, the Ukrainian leader cordially congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his birthday and wished him good health and continued success in large-scale reform efforts for the benefit of the Turkmen people.
The sides also exchanged views on the status and prospects of development of interstate relations, and stressed "the need for further efforts to ensure energy security as an integral part of universal peace and prosperity."
