The head of the state, Nursultan Nazarbayev, met the Minister of Agriculture, Akylbek Kurishbayev, the president''s press service reports.
"This year, owing to state support, sowing areas have increased by 1 million 200 thousand hectares. 40-60 % of grain has been harvested in South Kazakhstan region and productivity has increased by 2-3 times as compared to productivity of last year. The Ministry of Agriculture expects quite good crop in the northern regions of the country. Northern Kazakhstan is completely ready for harvesting. Farmers have been provided with petroleum products at the fixed prices. Agricultural machinery is 90 % ready for harvesting. This year 45 % of grain crops will be harvested by modern combines without crop loss," the press service informed.
