Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko will arrive today in Turkmenistan on an official visit. During the talks at the top-level and in the enlarged setting, the sides will discuss issues of bilateral cooperation, primarily in the economic and energy fields, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat with reference to the official announcement.
During the visit, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Viktor Yushchenko will take part in the opening of a railway bridge across the Amu Darya river that was built by the Ukrainian specialists. At the invitation of the Turkmen leader, the head of Ukraine will also participate in a ceremony of laying the foundation stone of a bridge over the Amu Darya river.
At present, the two countries have 120 international documents signed at the international, intergovernmental and interdepartmental levels. According to them, the two countries exchanged embassies, set up the joint Turkmen-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
