Legislation on fight against legalization of profits from criminal activities and terrorism financing was strengthened in Uzbekistan.
President Islam Karimov signed a law on introduction of amendments to the Criminal, Administrative, Civil Codes of the republic, and more than ten laws strengthening fight against terrorism financing and legalization of profits from criminal activities.
Amendments provide for advancing the mechanism of timely informing of counter-terroristic services about suspicious financial operations conducted by organizations and better coordination of interdepartmental cooperation, President''s press service reported.
Amendments were adopted by Uzbek Parliament Legislative Chamber on August 24, 2009, and approved by Senate on August 28, 2009.
