Kazakhstan and the United States have signed the joint action plan in energy sector during the session of joint Kazakh-USA energy partnership commission on Thursday.
According to the joint statement of the commission, the joint action plan outlines cooperation of two countries in sphere of nuclear security, atomic energy, oil and gas, renewable energy, energy efficiency and electric energy. " In sphere of nuclear security and atomic energy countries are willing to cooperate on the prevention of the danger of the nuclear weapon proliferation, provision of physical security of sensitive nuclear materials, minimization the usage of highly enriched uranium, prevention of illegal transportation of nuclear materials, strengthening of the control over the export of nuclear materials and implementation of international regimes of guaranties," said in the joint statement.
"We will exchange the experience between our national laboratories and scientific organizations, which would boost development of commercial and nuclear technologies in Kazakhstan," said in the document.
According to the statement, cooperation in oil and gas sphere will include development of the partnership among Kazakh international companies in exploration, development and transportation of hydrocarbon resources of the republic. "We agreed to foster joint efforts aimed to increase world energy supply and support of the willingness of Kazakhstan to find alternative ways of delivery of energy resources to international markets," said in the document.
