Number of HIV positives annually increases by 67-74 percent in Kyrgyzstan, Dinara Sagynbaeva, chief of the medical service administration under the Kyrgyz Health Care Ministry, said at the second congress of the obstetrician-gynecologists, pediatricians and pediatric surgeons on Thursday.

Number of HIV positive women, who do not fall into risk group, constantly grows and amounts to 33 percent as of today. “The women get the virus from their drug addicted husbands. The number of the infected through sexual contact also goes up (25 percent of the cases), while two percent of the patients got infection from their mothers,” Sagynbaeva said.

“Distribution of contraceptives remains a problem, vulnerable population can not get sufficient quantities of them, while abortion rate reduces in the republic,” she said.

Equipment of obstetric institutions reportedly goes on at the time. At least three consultative cabinets, where young people could get answers on all preserving of reproductive health issues will be opened in Jalalabad in the nearest future.
