“Population of Bishkek will reach 1.5 million by 2025, if the current birth and mortality rates remain unchanged,” Nariman Tyuleev, the Bishkek city governor said Tuesday reporting to the Bishkek City Council.
“We see the city as a consolidated corporation. Just like the Scandinavian countries, where citizens hold shares of the municipal companies and become owners of the city. It will not happen tomorrow, but this is our strategic guideline,” the mayor said.
Tyuleev believes that in the future industry will no longer be a city-forming component. From now on the main mission of the capital will be geopolitical renewal. The city budget in 2025 will make 15 billion soms.
