President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will pay an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt in 2010. Turkmen Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Ahmed Fathalla held talks at the Turkmen Foreign Ministry on November 5 to discuss issues related to preparations for the visit.
The sides agreed that the visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will give a new powerful impetus to the bilateral dialogue, and lay the ground for a close and effective Turkmen-Egyptian cooperation in all areas, the press service of the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
During the talks, considerable attention was paid to the expansion and intensification of trade and economic cooperation. The sides discussed a possibility of holding the second meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Egyptian economic cooperation commission in Cairo in 2010.
