Kyrgyzstan-U.S. cooperation has great potential, Maksim Bakiev the Chief of the Kyrgyz Central Development, Innovations and Investments Agency said at the seminar on conducting business with the U.S. Tuesday.

“Despite the largest economy in the world, U.S. share in Kyrgyzstan’s sales turnover amounts to two percent, while the volume of the American direct investments does not exceed seven percent. In our opinion, it is not enough and the both sides should take measures for extension of the cooperation,” Bakiev said.

The head of the agency outlined that the U.S. have promoted Kyrgyzstan to enter the World Trade Organization and the republic has been one of the main U.S. partners in anti-terrorism efforts in Central Asia. “But potential of our relations should be used more actively,” Bakiev added.
