There are few countries left in the world that the novel coronavirus COVID-19 has not yet reached. In the Central Asian region Coronavirus cases are increasing as well.
In neighboring Uzbekistan, 32 new cases of coronavirus were reported on April 5, bringing a total number of coronavirus cases in the country 298, RIA Novosti reported citing Uzbekistan’s Health Ministry. 25 patients have reportedly recovered Two coronavirus-linked deaths have been reported in Uzbekistan as of March 28, 2020.
Radio Liberty’s Kazakh Service says that according to data from the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, 584 cases of coronavirus have been registered in the country as of April 6, while 44 patients have recovered.
Kyrgyz new agency 24.kg reports 147 cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country as of April 5. Kyrgyz authorities announced on April 3 that they have recorded their first death of a person with coronavirus – a 61-year-old man who was being treated at the Nookat territorial hospital in the Osh region.
Meanwhile, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan have not reported any confirmed infections yet.
