The bilateral agreement between the Islamic republic of Iran and the Kyrgyz republic has been formulated in 12 clauses and it will be inked by the foreign ministers of the two countries before it is signed into law, IRNA reported on July 23.

The Iranian legislators have reportedly voted in favor of a bill concerning an agreement between Iran and Kyrgyzstan to cooperate in the field of security and law enforcement.

In an open session of the Iranian parliament on July 23, Iranian lawmakers voted to turn into law the security and law enforcement cooperation agreement between Tehran and Bishkek.

Abolfazl Amouei, the spokesman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian parliament, was cited as saying that the law deals with collaborations between Iran and Kyrgyzstan in areas such as combating human and drug trafficking, extremism, money laundering, and terrorism.

The lawmaker went on to say that the two countries are member states of regional organizations such as the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which are considered significant economic and political entities in the region.
