The Hasankhon Qori mosque has reopened after reconstruction in Tashkent’s Chilanzar district, Pdrobno.uz reported on March 11.
Podrobno.uz’s reporter says the building acquired an unusual appearance for a religious institution in high-tech style.
According to Podrobno.uz, an official source with the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan notes that previously the building was narrow, with an inconvenient entrance, which created difficulties for parishioners.
To create the necessary conditions and amenities for parishioners, it was rebuilt taking into account all needs.
During the reconstruction, modern architectural solutions and building materials were used, Podrobno.uz says.
The mosque is reportedly able to accommodate about 4,500 worshipers.
Meanwhile UzDaily reported in March 2021 that construction of a mosque in hi-tech style started in Tashkent.
UzDaily noted at the time that the new Sheikh Ziyovuddinkhan mosque, designed for 7,000 worshippers, will be commissioned by the end of 2022.
UzDaily further added that this is not the only high-tech mosque in Tashkent. In particular, three more mosques are being built in Mirzo-Ulughbek, Chilanzar and Shaykhantakhur districts.
