Starting January 1, 2026, U.S. citizens will be able to visit Uzbekistan without a visa for up to 30 days. The decree, signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on November 3, was published in the National Database of Legislation, according to UzA.

The new measure is reportedly part of Uzbekistan’s efforts to strengthen trade, economic, and cultural ties with the United States, as well as to boost tourism exchange between the two nations.

Since 2021, U.S. citizens aged 55 and older have been allowed to stay in Uzbekistan for up to 30 days without a visa for tourism purposes. The latest decree expands this privilege to all U.S. citizens, further facilitating travel to the country.

In May 2025, President Mirziyoyev signed another decree aimed at significantly increasing tourist inflows. As part of this initiative, he tasked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with negotiating with the U.S. to simplify visa procedures for Uzbek citizens traveling to the United States.

Uzbekistan has also been expanding its list of visa-free countries. In October 2025, the government announced that citizens from Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Qatar, China, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia can now visit Uzbekistan without a visa for up to 30 days.

This move is part of the country’s broader strategy to enhance international relations, promote tourism, and encourage more foreign business interactions. In addition to the visa-free arrangements, the government has also expedited the processing of business visas. Citizens from 12 countries, including Austria, Belgium, the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Malaysia, France, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Japan, can now obtain business visas in just two days. Meanwhile, citizens of the UAE, Iran, and Pakistan will be able to get business visas in three days.

Currently, citizens from 86 countries can enter Uzbekistan without a visa, a development expected to significantly enhance the country’s international profile and attract more tourists and investors.
