DUSHANBE, May 29, Asia-Plus - Tajikistan’s tennis player Dilshod Sharifi sealed berth in 1/16 final of ATP tournament in India’s Chandigarh yesterday, defeating Indian tennis player Varun Valia (phonetically spelled).
Ibod Sharifi, vice-president of Tajikistan Tennis Federation (TTF), that in 1/16 final, Dilshod Sharifi will compete with British tennis player Jonathan Tinsella (phonetically spelled). The ATP tournament that started in Chandigarh on May 26 will last till June 2.
The TTF vice-president added that over the past two years Dilshod Sharifi has mainly been trained at India’s Tennis Academy in New Delhi.
