This year's Chess Olympiad will be held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. This was announced to Asia-Plus by the Secretary General of the Chess Federation of Tajikistan, Ilkhom Yunusov.

According to him, the 45th Chess Olympiad will be held from September 10 to 23, according to preliminary data, 3,500 chess players will take part in it. The Tajik national team includes Mustafohuja Huseynkhodjaev, Alisher Karimov, Ilkhomi Jaloliddin, Aminjon Kabilov, Sulaimon Oymakhmadov, Nadezhda Antonova, Rukhshona Saidova, Dillola Tolibova, Shukrona Maskhabova, Saodat Odinaeva.

It is assumed that the September tournament in Budapest will be the first chess Olympiad in the "5G" mode: everyone will be able not only to follow the matches in real time, but also to play online games, including with the participants of the competition. The Tajik national team is preparing for these starts very seriously.

"The Chess Olympiad is a team tournament for the national teams that are members of the FIDE. We are putting all our efforts into preparing for these important competitions. The national team for the Chess Olympiad included the participants-winners of the championship of the republic," Yunusov said.

As for the prospects of Tajik chess players at the Olympics, Yunusov noted the growth of the skill of the national team players, and, according to him, with hard work and proper approach, the team will have results at the Chess Olympiad.

"In preparation for global starts, we are holding internal tournaments, Tajik players are preparing to perform at such a high level, including mentally. The level of our national team has grown, we hope for good results," he said.

The 45th Chess Olympiad, organized by FIDE, is the first in Hungary after Budapest hosted the 2nd Unofficial Olympiad in 1926.
