According to him, a large number of junior officers serving in the Tajik border troops took three-month and one-month training and refresher courses last year.
On the technical equipment of the Tajik border troops, Saydamir Zuhurov noted that following their requests donors and international countries have provided them considerable assistance in modernization border units and frontier posts. “Last year, Tajik border troops received more than US$2 million worth of assistance and further US7 million are expected to be allocated this year to provide infrastructure improvements and border outpost development,” the Tajik border service chief said.
