DUSHANBE, February 2, Asia-Plus - First Deputy Director of Tajik State Air Company “Tojikiston”, Firuz Hamroyev, speaking to journalists yesterday noted, “Today top managers of Tajikistan’s air carrier will meet with visiting representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to discuss the results of audit conducted at the Tajik national airlines and the issue of renewing the country’s air fleet.”

We will recall that the EBRD approved a loan of US$ 5 million for Tajik air carrier to cover expenses related to the airline’s plan to lease two relatively new western type airplanes in late 2004 and a loan agreement on this subject was signed on
The EBRD with the support of Japanese and Dutch donors have been working with the Tajik government since 1995 to improve the country’s air services.
