QURGHON TEPPA, February 22, Asia-Plus - During last year, 2.5 tons of low-quality medicines were confiscated from chemist’s shops in Vakhsh Valley (Qurghon Teppa region of Khatlon province), Asia-Plus has learned from Odina Sharipov, an official with the Center for Examination of Medicines.
According to him, at present more than 125 state-run and private chemist’s shops are functioning in these districts of Khatlon. “We in cooperation with the regional prosecutor’s office and district authorities have worked out a joint plan of actions on combating trafficking in low-quality medicines in the region in 2006,” Mr. Sharipov said.
