, March 3, Asia-Plus - A four-day meeting of the Tajik-Kyrgyz joint commission for delimitation and demarcation of a common border between the two countries ended in
Dushanbe
on Thursday, March 2.
According to information from the Tajik MFA Information Department, a certain success has been made during the meeting. “The sides reached mutual understanding on resolving problems facing the commission,” Igor Sattarov, a spokesman for the MFA, said, noting that working groups of the commission set to description of a draft line of the common border between the two countries. However, Mr. Sattarov has refrained from giving further details of the border negotiations.
As it had been reported earlier, a session of the Tajik-Kyrgyz joint commission for delimitation and demarcation of common border opened in
Dushanbe
on February 27. Deputy Tajik Foreign Minister, Salohiddin Nasreddinov, and Salamat Alamanov, head of the department for legal regulation of border issues within the Kyrgyz Prime Minister’s Office, are co-chairmen of the commission that was established in 2003.
