Tajikistan intends to export its diary products to neighboring countries

DUSHANBE
, March 10, Asia-Plus - Annually,
Tajikistan
produces more than 7,500 tons of diary products for an amount of 6 million Somonis, according to information from the “Sanoati Gushtu Shir” (meat and milk) State Unitary Enterprise.
The “Sanoati Gushtu Shir” head, Mahmadjon Davlatov, has told Asia-Plus that 80 percent of diary products realized in
Tajikistan
is produced by local producers, who are able to produce more than 6,500 tons of milk, kefir, and soured cultured cream, as well as more than 1,100 tons of cheese and 38 tons of butter a year.
“Last year, specialists from
Sweden
and
Canada
expressed wish to introduce modern technologies of cheese-making in
Tajikistan
,” said Mr. Davlatov, “And already by the end of the last year, this product has come on the markets in the republic.”
Mr. Davlatov also noted that at present eight enterprises producing diary output were functioning in the republic.
In future, Tajik producers of diary output intend to exports their products to neighboring countries and by the end of the year Tajik cheese will have been exported to
Afghanistan
.
