-Plus - On Saturday March 11,
Tajikistan
will organize celebrations to mark a Day of Tajikistan’s Press.
On this occasion, a ceremonial meeting will be held at the Opera and Ballet Theatre in
Dushanbe
.
Representatives from the government, parliament, and diplomatic missions accredited in
Tajikistan
as well as veterans of the Tajik press and journalists have been invited to attend this meeting. During the meeting three best journalists will be given the Abulqosim Lohuti Award and several others will be awarded decorations “Exemplary Worker of the Press”, “Exemplary Worker of Culture” and certificates of the Ministry of Culture.
An exposition of newspapers, magazines and books will be held in the theatre’s hall on sidelines of the meeting.
We will recall that the official date for the establishment of the Tajik press is
March 11 1912
, when the first edition of the Tajik-language newspaper “Bukhoroi Sharif” (Glorious Bukhara) was issued.
