, March 15, Asia-Plus -- “Some foods products imported to
Tajikistan
are not fit for taking and even dangerous for health,” Davlatali Hotamov, director of “Tojikstandart” (Tajik agency for standardization and metrology), remarked at a briefing in
Dushanbe
on March 14.
According to him, several consignments of tea imported from
Iran
were rejected last year because it [tea] had ingredient injurious to health. “272 tons of tea were returned to the country producer,” Hotamov said.
He noted that many food products, including salt, diary products, alcohol drinks, vegetable oil and confectioneries, did not meet requirements of standard. “Sometimes shops, where these products are realized, also do not meet sanitary requirements,” Hotamov noted.
The “Tojikstandart” director also noted that personnel of public catering facilities, including cafes, restaurants and bars, should also correspondent to their positions.
