Tajikistan, Kazakhstan to boost bilateral economic cooperation

is a strategic partner of
Kazakhstan
both in political and economic issues, Kazakh Minister of Environmental Protection also co-chairman of Tajik-Kazakh commission for economic and trade cooperation, Nurlan Iskakov remarked at a news conference in
Dushanbe
yesterday following the 7
th
session of the Tajik-Kazakh economic commission.
According to him, the commission worked productively, discussing conceptual issues, including drumming up Kazakh investments in
Tajikistan
’s economy.
Participants at the meeting also considered and made concerted documents that are supposed to be signed during President Rahmonov’s visit to
Kazakhstan
, which is scheduled for May 4-5. The session’s work resulted in preparation of six government-to-government and inter-agency documents for signing. The documents, in particular, include agreements on exchange of information in the field of fighting economic crimes and violation of tax laws, labor migration and protection of rights of labor migrants, international automotive communication, mutual protection of secrete information, etc.
In future, the Tajik-Kazakh economic commission is also supposed to work on preparing further five cooperation documents, including agreements on aerial communication, agricultural cooperation, environmental protection, etc.
The sides also agreed to consider the possibility of organization of Days of Kazakh Culture in
Tajikistan
in 2007 and Days of Tajik Culture in
Kazakhstan
in 2008.
Kazakhstan
’s Ministry of Education also will consider the issues related to providing quotas to Tajik citizens for studying at Kazakh higher educational institutions.
