Tajikistan to attend OEC meeting in Azerbaijan

, May 2, Asia-Plus - A Tajik delegation led by Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov will attend a summit meeting of the Organization of the Economic Cooperation (OEC) that will be held in the Azerbaijani capital of
Baku
on May 5, according to information from President’s Executive Office.
The source says the meeting is aiming to consider issues related to creation of conditions for continuous and thorough socioeconomic development of member nations of the Organization. Participants at the meeting are also supposed to discuss prospects of further expansion of regional cooperation and mutual assistance in cultural, technical and scientific spheres.
Iran
and
Afghanistan
are expected to be represented by their presidents,
Uzbekistan
will be represented by its parliament speaker,
Kazakhstan
,
Pakistan
,
Tajikistan
and
Turkey
– by their prime ministers,
Kyrgyzstan
– by its vice-premier, and
Turkmenistan
will be represented by head of one of its state committees.
