KHOROG, May 22, Asia-Plus - Tajik border troops detained Afghan drug trafficker with more than eleven kilograms of drugs and a large amount of foreign currency, who was illegally crossing the border river in the Shugnan district of Gorno Badakhshan late Friday [May 19], Faromuz Faromuzov, a spokesman for the Gorno Badakhshan police department, said.
According to him, the totaled of the seized drugs included 5.73 kilograms of heroin and 5.605 kilograms of hashish. Besides, a large amount of Somoni and foreign currencies, including USD and Afghani, were confiscated from the drug trafficker.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way.
