DUSHANBE , May 23, Asia-Plus - On June 2, the Dushanbe-based mircrofinance fund “Humo” will open its first microcredit-lending unit in the Yovon district of Khatlon under support of GTZ (German Technical Cooperation).

            Mr. Angela Popova, the “Humo” office manager, has told Asia-Plus that the unit will provide micro loans to small businesses.  According to her, the “Humo” microfinance fund provides financial services for development of small and medium-sized businesses, enhancement of production and processing of agricultural output and development of trade in Tajikistan . 

            According to information from the National bank of Tajikistan (NBT), the “Humo” microfinance fund is the fourth of its kind in the republic; others are located in Sughd (“Imon” microfinance fund), in the Jirgatol district (“Borshud”) and Dushanbe (“Haqiq”).
