DUSHANBE, June 7, Asia-Plus -- Some 20 regions of the Russian Federation have expressed readiness to train Russian language teachers for Tajikistan, Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Ramazan Abdulatipov announced at a news conference in Dushanbe Tuesday [June 6].
According to him, at present Tajik Education Ministry is negotiating this issue with administrations of some Russian regions.
Russian diplomat noted that specialists would be trained for free, and not by quota provided for Tajikistan at Russian higher educational institutions. “The negotiations are under way and the first group of Tajik students may possibly go to Russia already on September 1 this year,” Mr. Abdulatipov noted.
On the subject of learning the Russian language in Tajikistan, the Ambassador noted that Russian Language Center was being set up at Tajik Academy of Sciences and the Institute for Raising Qualification of Russian Teachers functioned at Russian-Tajik Slavic University (RTSU) in Dushanbe.
