The drugs were confiscated in the course of 2005-2006 and were material evidences on proceedings criminal on which courts had already passed sentences.
The drugs were burnt in the presence of representatives from the law enforcement agencies as well as journalists from Swedish TV Company “Strix”.
Officers from the Tajik Drug Control Agency have intercepted 495 kilograms of drugs over the first five months of this year. The totaled included more than 208 kilograms of heroin, 53 kilograms of raw opium and some 235 kilograms of cannabis.
