Dushanbe municipal waterworks negotiates award of Japan’s grant for water supply project

DUSHANBE
, July 12, Asia-Plus -- Today afternoon, senior representatives from the
Dushanbe
municipal waterworks (Dushanbevodokanal or DVK) are meeting in
Dushanbe
with Kishio Sakamaki, General Manager of
Japan
’s Hazama Corporation.
The DVK source says the meeting will be continuation of negotiations between top managers of the
Dushanbe
municipal waterworks and Masatoshi Ichi, General Managers of Mitsubishi Corporation, which were held in
Dushanbe
in late June this year.
According to the source, the meeting is expected to focus on preparation of additional documents for making decision on giving by
Japan
’s Government of grant for project aimed at enhancement of the water supply system in the Tajik capital.
After carrying out all necessary procedures this project will be submitted for confirmation to Japan’s Government, the Asia-Plus interlocutor said.
We will recall that the Japanese side is ready to award a grant of US$9 million for implementation of the project aimed at enhancement of the water supply system in
Dushanbe
.
