DUSHANBE , July 25, Asia-Plus - No one of six plants for production of ferro-concrete constructions in Dushanbe works in full capacity, Matlub Khalifayev, Chairman of the Committee for Construction and Architecture, remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe on July 24.   

According to him, the plants work only 10 percent of their rated capacities.  Mr. Khalifayev named the fact that the plants were privatized 7-8 years ago as one of factors contributing to reduction in their production.  

“After the plants were privatized, some their shops were reequipped for production of goods having nothing to do with to the plant’s specialization, and a part of necessary machine-tools were dismantled,” Mr. Khalifayev said.   

Building materials produced by these plants do not meet requirements, according to Khalifayev.  “The main reason for this is use of old technologies.” The head of the Committee for Construction and Architecture said.  

He also added that the committee had worked out a concept of development of the construction sector in Tajikistan for the period of 2007-2015.  “This concept provides for measures to rehabilitate the construction sector,” Mr. Khalifayev said.  

“The document has already been sent for coordination to all ministries and organizations and after that it will be submitted for consideration to the government,” Matlub Khalifayev concluded.
