DUSHANBE, August 22, Asia-Plus -- Rahmatillo Zoirov, the leader of Tajikistan’s Social-Democratic Party (SDPT), has returned from Switzerland, where he underwent a medical examination during a month, Shokirjon Hakimov, the SDPT deputy head, said.
According to him, there was suspicion that Mr. Zoirov had ischemic stroke. “Since there are no latest medicines and medical technologies in Tajikistan as well as for the purpose of providing personal security of the party leader, the party’s administration has considered its expedient to send Mr. Zoirov for treatment outside the republic,” said Mr. Hakimov, “He now is in satisfactory health condition and has already set to fulfillment of his functional duties,” Mr. Hakimov said.
“One f the immediate tasks is to hold a session of the party’s political council, which will consider the issue of convocation of the 9 th SDPT congress that will determine strategy and tactics of Social-Democrats in the upcoming presidential election in the country,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor said.
