DUSHANBE, August 25, Asia-Plus -- A Tajik-Russian inter-parliament forum has opened in Dushanbe.
Opening Tajik-Russian inter-parliament forum, President Rahmonov has highly appraised the present cooperation between the two countries. At the same time, Rahmonov noted that the two countries had good potentials for further expansion of bilateral cooperation, especially between Tajik and Russian regions.
The head of state stressed that Tajikistan had created all conditions for expansion of cooperation with Russia in the fields such as hydropower, mining and other sectors of economy. He pointed out that at present there were no any problems in relationships between the two countries and expressed hope that the forum would give a new impulse for further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia.
According to figures provided by the State Committee for Statistics, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Russia has valued at US$248,085,300 since the beginning of the year. This consisted of Tajikistan’s exports to the Russian Federation estimated at US$27,265,700 and Tajikistan’s imports from Russia worth US$220,828,000.
